Tamarindo Nightlife

Tamarindo Costa Rica Nightlife

Long famous for its carefree vibe and Costa Rican "Pura Vida" party atmosphere, there are numerous bars, lounges, and discoteques within easy walking distance. The night scene has something for everyone on almost every night of the week! You'll find many times most party-goers at the same place, depending on the day of the week. Followed by looking around for a very late-night hot-spot.

Reggae Music and Culture

Tamarindo, Costa Rica has a diverse music scene and one of the most popular is Reggae. Reggae is best not heard in a "Disneyland" atmostphere. It is a story and a culture about oppressed people in the backstreets of Kingston, Jamaica. You'll find it at the Babylon nightclub on Thursday nites where its atmosphere is a little trashy and you may think your there. Good Reggae music, depending on whether there is live music and who is playing. At times I have really enjoyed the music!

Smell Like a Butterfly

You're a hot guy, dressed casually in a t-shirt and flip-flops and you notice a pretty latin girl is checking you out... buzzing around like a bee to pollen. Actually, she's sniffing around you to see if you smell good. Most native women really do not like a guy who doesn't smell good. Many native women take three to five showers a day and have a super keen sense of smell. So, clean up your act for the local ladies and you may clean up in the romance department.

You Could Get Busted

All you have to do is be in the wrong bar at the wrong time. There are times the local police can get real upset with life, like when several of them have marriage problems, or they get bad press, or when two of them got their guns stolen. Anyways, you never know, and when they really get upset they'll do a "sweep" of a bar and round up everyone without proper identification. People without their passports are literally push into a bus with bars on the windows and taken to police headquarters. Don't take the ride, spend the night in jail or risk getting deported. Bring a copy of your passport with you at night.
